Polarized Lenses
Reduce the Glare
Sunlight bouncing off a horizontal surface such as the surface of a lake or the hood of a car will strike your eyes at a similar angle, which causes an extremely strong glare. Polarized lenses are used in sunglasses to reduce glare from these surfaces. They accomplish this feat through a process called polarization, much like a venetian blind controls sunlight through a window.
Polarizing filters absorb 99.9% of reflected glare, and maximize the amount of usable light that reaches the eye, so that you can see detail and interpret color with maximum impact.
Polarized progressive lenses are perfect for the presbyope who is also an outdoor sports aficionado. And polarized photochromic lenses, which change from dark outside to light inside, are right for the light-sensitive person who changes environments frequently (inside to outside and vice versa).
All prescription and non-prescription sunglasses at Discerning Eye can be fitted with polarized lenses.
